Germany

This picture was taken by Heidi during her tour of duty in Germany. "I was on my way to a Boy Scout retreat weekend, helping their troop leader to chaperon. During a roadside stop to pick up one of the boys, this view was too mesmerizing to pass up. The fog that had covered the area that morning was just lifting off the floor of the Black Forest leaving the trees to appear floating."

This one is only 3 inches tall and hiding behind a fence. Sometimes you have to look way down to see the beauty underneath it all.

This beautiful wild rose was seen while lazily traveling along a back road. From a distance, it is a green bush with red flowers. Close-up...just savor the beauty.

I started my life enjoying the beaches of New England. I am far from them now, but, whenever I smell the salt air, hear the rushing waves or look out into the vastness of the deep blue water, I am home. This is a picture taken at Horseneck Beach. The slat and wire fences (called snow fences), are used to keep the dunes from blowing away or shifting onto paths and boardwalks. Their grey blue weathering is often the subject of visitor's photos. This sandy shore goes on for about 5 miles and in the heat of the summer is covered with people enjoying the sun and the waves.
