I started my life enjoying the beaches of New England. I am far from them now, but, whenever I smell the salt air, hear the rushing waves or look out into the vastness of the deep blue water, I am home. This is a picture taken at Horseneck Beach. The slat and wire fences (called snow fences), are used to keep the dunes from blowing away or shifting onto paths and boardwalks. Their grey blue weathering is often the subject of visitor's photos. This sandy shore goes on for about 5 miles and in the heat of the summer is covered with people enjoying the sun and the waves.
